Meta’s made it possible to make an AI clone of yourself.
Ok, not exactly a clone. But you can now create an AI character to engage with your community so you don’t have to.
Now this could be handy if you’re wanting to grow your audience fast. But do we really need more ways for AI to pretend to be us?
In today's newsletter:
Meta rolls out AI characters to build your community for you (find out whether it’s a feature your brand should be using)
Bodyform's new ad breaks the stigma of periods (and gives us a masterclass in tackling difficult topics in our campaigns)

Meta Rolls Out AI Characters to Build Your Community for You
Meta's new AI Studio lets U.S. users create AI versions of themselves to engage with followers on their behalf. This a big step forward in community outreach. But it does raise questions around the value of authentic human-to-human interactions.
What if you could reply to all your comments and messages... without lifting a finger?
For Meta, that's the future of community management, powered by its new AI Studio recently released for US users.
Through it, users can create an AI character through the Instagram app or the Meta website. Then they can use the character to engage with followers on IG, Messenger, WhatsApp and across the web.
The personalized chatbots can either represent you or a separate unique personality. You can customise your bot with a range of responses and tones. And they can do things like answer common DM questions and story replies, or even share great recipes and generate memes.
Right now, you're likely asking yourself...
...But why would I want a chatbot pretending to be me?
From Meta's perspective, its AI studio helps creators looking to grow their business or personal brand be more efficient with their community outreach.
Creators can use this tool to interact with their audience through private messages and in comment sections. These AI characters can answer basic questions and give on-brand interactions without the creator having to do this manually.

Bodyform’s New Ad Breaks the Stigma of Periods
Bodyform's 'Never Just a Period' ad highlights the confusion and stigma around periods and women's health. This campaign shows how marketers can use powerful storytelling and thought-provoking messaging to address difficult topics.
The Drum’s ‘Ad of the Day’ is more like the ad of the century.
A 2-minute spot by femcare brand Bodyform shows the female experience when it comes to all things periods and intimate health.
Namely the confusion, shame, stigmas and traumas surrounding women's bodies and the lack of education we receive from our first period right through to menopause.
The fact that we are still fighting for our reproductive rights and adequate research on women’s health in 2024 is absolutely insane. But anyway.
‘Never Just a Period’ perfectly depicts the emotions we go through during our lives. We're often in the dark about what’s going on down there.
This ad highlights the dissonance between what we’re taught to expect and the reality of our experiences.
It showcases the absurd experience of having so little knowledge of our own damn bodies. And it’s arguably one of the best ads I’ve ever watched.
Scored by an all-female Greek chorus-inspired orchestra, the film humorously and emotionally explores experiences such as that terrifying moment of getting your first period (appropriately set at school, because how many of us first discovered theirs in a school lavatory?), the horrors of learning to put a tampon in, and being gaslit by a male doctor who tells you 'it’s just a period.'

Trend Plug - Deadpool’s Dancing to NSYNC
Today’s hilarious trend uses a green screen template of a clip from the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie where Deadpool is dancing to 'Bye, Bye, Bye' by NSYNC.
It's no surprise this is going totally viral. I mean, how could it not?
TikTokers are using this trend to show how they react when, "they're in the shower and their jam comes on", or when they, "send their girlfriend a risky text and she sends back an even riskier one".
How to jump on this trend:
Simply, use this sound, use this template, and then use on-screen text to describe a situation where you might break out into song and dance.
A few ideas to get you started:
'Me 5 minutes after my boss asks me if I can take just one day seriously'
'If you dance I'll buy you a coffee' (kind of like this)
'Me when someone asks what I bring to the team'

Q - I'm just getting started on LinkedIn but I'm not confident in my writing skills. How can I get over being scared to post? - Jill
Hey Jill!
Honestly, I don't think that feeling of being scared to post ever fully goes away. I still overthink my own content and I'm a copywriter! The only advice I can give you is to just start somewhere.
We tend to think everyone is 'looking at us' when we publish a post. But, in reality, your content is a tiny blip on someone's radar. No one is thinking about it the way you are.
So instead of waiting until you feel confident, write up a post about something you're learning right now and just hit ‘publish’. Then the next day, do it again. Keep doing it until it doesn't feel quite so scary. You'll notice that writing will get easier the more you work that muscle. So stop waiting around to feel ready and just go for it.
