I NEED YOUR HELP!
Sunday’s are for my Book Club. Now our system for getting people into this hasn’t worked properly so here is me asking you, Do you want to be in the book club?
If so, reply to this email saying you do and we’ll add you.
But more importantly, there are questions near the bottom of this newsletter with some questions I would love answers to. Please reply with your thoughts and questions.
What's in this newsletter?
The highs, the lows, the ugly truth. Each week, Charlotte's going to interview me about how my book writing is going. She'll share where my head is and how I'm feeling about the process.
My side of the story. I'll break down why we’re doing what we’re doing. How we’re doing it. And how you can get involved. From time to time, I'll also share the big key ideas I'm thinking about and ask you to give me feedback.
Read my book as I write it. I'm going to do something potentially dumb and share my entire book with you. Every Sunday, I’ll share a link so you can read what I've written in the last few days. You can comment, make suggestions and provide feedback as I create this book.
Let's get into it....

The Highs, The Lows & The Ugly Truth
Ok guys, I'm here to tell you what's really going on as Stan writes his book. This process is going to have plenty of ups and downs so come along for this crazy ride.
This week’s highs:
Stan hasn’t done any real writing this week. That’s not a high. But the fact that he’s not stressed and worried about it is a good thing! He’s just accepted that this murder mystery section will have to get done on the weekend when he won’t get interrupted.
This week’s lows:
Stan can't write a murder mystery in this office. It's way too distracting. Especially since this week two of our leaders (Nate and Elaine) have been away. Which means Stan's had to be the boss man even more than normal.
Stan's stumped about creating a book club video series. He's tried to do a talking head about his book, but it was boring af. So now he needs to figure out how to do this properly so people actually want to watch the content. More pondering time is needed to sort this out.
The ugly truth:
Writing fiction's way harder than writing nonfiction. The tactical parts of the book are easy for Stan to write. He's basically just documenting what he does all day every day. But writing a fiction story takes way more thought AND time. Can’t wait to see how Stan pulls off this murder mystery idea 👀

There’s been a murder!
What’s harder than writing a book?
Writing one that is a cross between a murder mystery and a business book about marketing. It’s maybe one of the craziest ideas I’ve ever had and I’m finding it really hard to do it.
If it scares you, it’s probably the right action.
Something I’ve always known and lived by since starting this company is that if something scares me, it is probably the right thing. The best things in life are hard to achieve and attain. Making this book a cross between a murder mystery and a marketing book is one of those things that is so outrageous that if we pull it off will set a new standard for how business books could be written. I just have no prior experience on how to do this.
Publishers need proof now!
My literary agent has told me that publishers need to see how I am going to do this Murder Mystery part of the book before they take it more serious. They are worried if it isn’t done right then it’ll ruin the book. And so I have to write a bunch of it before I can do anything else and I wasn’t quite ready to. So this weekend I need to sit down and write at least 2500 words of it so I can give it to my coaches and have it edited before passing it on to the publishers to review.
What do you want to see?
I want to make more content about the book writing process, what do you want to see?
What would be valuable to you?
What would be interesting?
Also, if you want to be part of the book club, reply to this email and you’ll get added to the list of people who receive this Sunday email each week and eventually I’ll organise monthly calls with y’all to help me with the book writing process.
I'm super excited to share this journey with you all.
So I'll stop rambling and let you dig into the draft below.
Check out the big picture plan of my entire book to see where this is heading.
And here’s what I will have written this week but it might not be there when you read it as I’m writing it Sunday when you get this. So if there isn’t anything there, come back on Monday.
Here are previous weeks’ writing
Remember, the whole reason I’m sharing this is because I want you to help me make it better. So please be brutal and give me feedback.
I can take it.
Cheers,
