What am I doing?
This book is proving to be more difficult to stay consistent with than I thought.
It doesn’t help that business is continuing to grow and not slowing at all, pulling me in all directions.
And to top that all off I’m now looking for new office space for the team as we are too large for our current space.
So, How am I going to fix this?
Honestly, I’m not really sure. Take a look at my calendar for next week. There is no space left already, and this is every week at the moment.
Now obviously I have all the time before 8 am in the morning and all that space above 5 pm. The thing is I don’t have the mental capacity to write at those times when my week is this full. I can’t concentrate and my mind wanders off on to all the things I have coming up. And so all I have is the green blocks that I have for book time. But the same thing applies. It’s hard for me to focus when work is so busy.
The only real thing I can do is hire more people.
All of the teal-coloured meetings are strategy sessions that I don’t really need to be in long term and will eventually be taken over fully by Nate and his newly formed strategy team.
The YAP podcast in the morning will eventually be taken over by the team.
That just leaves the weekend.
So, the goal at the moment is to get up early on a Sunday, exercise and then put my writing hat on.
I’m currently about 10,000 words behind, so I have some work to do.

The Highs, The Lows & The Ugly Truth
Ok guys, I'm here to tell you what's really going on as Stan writes his book. This process is going to have plenty of ups and downs so come along for this crazy ride.
This week’s highs:
Thinking lots of thoughts. Ok guys, I'll be honest. Stan hasn't done much writing in the last few weeks. But what he has done is a lot of thinking, which is the next best thing I guess? He says he's been mapping out the book in his head, so let's hope that translates into words on paper sooner rather than later!
A lightbulb moment. Stan's realised he needs to better utilise his LinkedIn audience. They are the target audience for this book, after all. So he's thinking about how to talk more about his book writing process on that platform.
The weeks’ lows:
“Pretty sh*tty” and “f#%king terrible.” In Stans, words, that’s how his book writing went this week. Sooo that’s not great. I guess some weeks are just like that.
The ugly truth:
Good intentions don't always pan out. Last weekend, Stan planned to smash out a few thousand words. But when he sat down to do it, he wasn't in the right headspace. What he did is take a bit of much-needed downtime, which sometimes has to take priority.
