Today we’re spilling all our secrets.
Trust me, you don’t want to miss this.
Last December, we went from 2k - 200k IG followers in just three weeks. Today we’re breaking down exactly how we did it.
Plus, the momentous occasion that is Leap Day is almost upon us! Today we’re giving you some content inspo so you’re ready for it next week.

So, What’s the Tea?
It’s hard to believe this month has almost gotten away from us.
Luckily, we’ve got an extra day of February this year before the month wraps up. And there’s plenty of content creation opportunities for you to take advantage of in the next few weeks.
Leap Day is almost here (February 29). This odd day has sparked inspiration for a variety of traditions over the years. So how do you harness these Leap Day festivities?
Here are a few ideas:
Offer something big. A unique day needs to be celebrated! So offer your audience something special. You could treat them to a big discount or do a Leap Day giveaway.
Celebrate those Leap Day babies. You might be lucky enough to have a Leap Day baby on your team. If you do, create content surrounding their birthday and make a big fuss. Here at TAS, our Chey is having her 7th birthday this Feb 29!
Have fun with it. It's a special day, so you can create whatever tradition you like! Share random acts of kindness on your social media accounts. Or create a funny skit about your team not coming to work (after all, they aren’t getting paid for the extra day!)
International Women’s Day (March 8). Ladies, let’s get into formation because it's time to celebrate! There's so many ways to craft content tied to this day.
Here’s some inspo:
Highlight the powerful women in your office (like Warner Music Italy did)
Dig deep into the history of International Women’s Day in a comedic way (check out this clip from the FOUR NINE podcast).
Look back on some of the trends that came from the Barbie movie (arguably the biggest feminist blockbuster of 2023!). Some examples include men celebrating the women in their life, the Hi Barbie trend and this audio from America Ferrera highlighting the issues facing modern women.
Turns Out 100X-ing Your Followers Isn’t That Hard!
We grew our IG following from 2k - 200k in just three weeks. How? It’s actually not that complicated. We were just paying attention to what was happening on the platform.
Here's how we did it:
We looked at what kind of content was popping off on the platform at the time. You had Reed Harrington who grew his account to almost 500k doing one squat per follower he got. And Gunwoo Kim who bench pressed 1 gram of rice for each follower and went from 0-->100k followers in just 15 days. Several others were growing their followers just as fast doing videos that followed that format.
We put our own spin on it. Stan and Jony came up with the idea of counting one grain of rice for each new follower. But just counting rice wasn't enough! We had to create a story around it so people would actually care.
We gave people a reason to give a sh*t. So we played up the Boss vs. Employee angle. Because who can't relate to having a boss that's totally unreasonable? The story was that Jony would get paid 1 cent for each new follower she got by Christmas. But for each follower, Stan was forcing her to count individual grains of rice. Suddenly it went from counting 1 grain of rice per follower to "follow along and stick it to Stan!"
And, it turns out, 198,000 people were on board with that!
But, just like any trend on social media, we had to jump on it before it was too late. Starting this now may not work because Instagram has since been inundated with videos like this.
So if you want to exponentially grow your followers like we did, you've got to know what's happening on the platforms right now. Then you have to ride the wave before you miss your chance!

Q - As the only content writer on my team, I need to produce more written content so we can grow faster. I know this will take time but just wondering what advice you have for me. - Elizabeth
Hey Elizabeth!
I was the only writer at TAS for a bit, so I totally get how challenging it is!
Here's my advice:
Come up with a few post formats that are easy to replicate. Our lovely Jony calls this ERC (easily repeatable content). This could be quick tips, questions for your audience, highlighting people on your team, or a weekly roundup every Friday.
Once you've got a few styles that are easy to produce, you'll be able to create content faster. Because you don't have to reinvent the wheel for every single post!
Like you said, it will take time to grow your following. But having several repeatable ideas will help you post consistently so you can get there faster!
